YACHT CLUB LIVORNO

It was established in 1965 by a group of sail lovers who dedicated themselves to the restoration of the Forte della Bocca and the building of the first moorings at Porto Mediceo. Very important yachts raced for this Club during the golden years of (italian) sailing (from Spadolini's Koala to Calandriello's Dida). In 1987 the Club built the new floating decks together with CNL and the Naval League.

GRUPPO VELA ASSONAUTICA LIVORNO

Established in 1992 it is the youngest Yacht Club. Today it is the nautical headquarter of Tornado Class and point of reference for the Federation in the selection and training of crews for this olimpic Class. In its short history the GVAL obtained important results in the main national and international regattas in IMS, Laser and J24 classes; but the matter of pride for the Club is the development of 2.4 m. Class. Thanks to the funds provided by the Camera del Commercio and the County, a permanent Sailing School was founded at Gruppo Vela. Here even handicapped people can race together on these boats.
